The adventure that is Kif Brown began in Seattle on May 26, 1961. The stories of skiing, boating, explosives, airplanes and all manner of exciting happenings started at a very early age, never stopped, and have now moved on to the next realm.
Kif was intensely passionate about so many things. He was a tremendously skilled pilot, an amazing skier, a boater, a snowcat operator, a sky diver, an entrepreneur, a snowmobiler, a backcountry tour operator, food and wine connoisseur and avid lover of life.
Kif was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in June 2013. He was given a very poor prognosis and just 2-3 months to live. He passed away 20 months later without the cancer slowing him down at all. He climbed mountains and skied and flew his airplane and went boating in some of the most wild, beautiful Pacific Northwest waters.
“Pretty muchly”, anyone who ever met Kif did not forget Kif. He was always looking for a new adventure and was not hesitant to include you in the adventure, willing or not! And if you were lucky enough to get included, you probably have incredible stories to share for years to come.
Kif was an amazing husband, son, father, step daddy, brother, uncle, grampy, friend and foe. He will be fiercely missed.
To put it simply, KIF HAPPENED!
Too often, when patients are newly diagnosed, there is not much information available to them outside of the standard chemotherapy/surgery/radiation world. There is little to no nutrition information given in the standard setting. Any kind of alternative treatment is also usually dismissed. Vitamins and herbal supplements are frowned on.
We firmly believe that diet, lifestyle, a personalized protocol of supplements and the right attitude will improve the outcome of any diagnosis. If conventional therapy is chosen, these elements will greatly improve the results. There are many clinics that offer treatment options that combine conventional and alternative therapy. Too often, these options are not discovered until standard treatment has taken it’s toll. We believe if we had discovered some of these treatments earlier we might have altered and greatly improved the outcome. We are committed to getting this information to patients as early as possible so they are armed with all the resources available to them to make their personal treatment decisions.
The Kif Brown Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, that reaches out to people who are newly diagnosed with cancer to provide information and resources to more easily navigate through the process of deciding on treatment.
….Providing personalized guidance after a cancer diagnosis….
Our organization realizes this is a difficult time.
Our ultimate mission is to better the lives of patients and their families by sharing knowledge that we have gained through our journey and through continuing research. We also realize that financial limitations often stand in the way of following a chosen treatment path. We have funds available to assist when necessary with travel, supplements, etc.
The Kif Brown Foundation is committed to getting information out to as many people as possible regarding the importance of diet, exercise and attitude for the prevention and treatment of cancer. We also work one on one with our clients to provide them with whatever aid they need to complete their chosen course of treatment, whether it be research, financial help, referrals or simply a strong support system. Your generous donations allow us to continue this important work and help so many on the path of prevention, healing and LIVING!
